Tears like Rain

Rainbow Dash laid down in the soft green grass. The meadow breeze ruffled her hair. Her eyes were puffy and her head was pounding from crying. Her eyes wield up with tears of anger and sadness every time she started to think again. She was numb with pain and she kept on seeing the picture playing over and over again in her head. She tried to calm down, but she couldn't. She wondered why he would do such a thing. What did she do to deserve this?

She tried to stand up, but even the soft gale pushed her back down on her knees. She just laid back down on the grass and cried. She didn't think the tears would ever stop. She spread out her wings and plucked out a blue feather. She looked at it and twirled it in her fingers. She released the feather and it flowed up into the sky, following the wind pattern.

The wind carried the feather down the hill she was on. It pranced along with the breeze as if the current asked the feather to have this dance. Soarin interrupted the feathers enjoyment as he snatched it out of the air.

"Rainbow Dash" He murmured. He knew, because that beautiful color belonged to her. He flew straight into the air. His hair and white t-shirt got ruffled in the strong wind. He flew against the air current following the direction the feather traveled in. He sat on a cloud near him, looking in all directions for his best friend, Rainbow Dash.

He spotted her lying down on a hill, a big apple tree shading her face. Her wings were spread all the way out, but her arms tightly hugged her body. Soarin flew down careful not to scare her. She was breathing heavily, quietly singing a song to herself. She looked sad and hurt, he needed to help.

"Hey Dash" he said softly. She turned her head to look at him, but did not say a word. He came over and sat down next to her. "What's wrong? Is everything okay?" he asked. Not a sound came from her mouth, but tears streamed down from her eyes.

"I'm fine" she finally broke the silence.

"And you expect me to believe that?" He raised an eyebrow. And at that moment, she just broke down.Tears came down like rain and she quietly sobbed.

"He…" She choked out "I saw him with… her. I can't believe that… Him… He kissed her." Dash sobbed into her hands. She sat up as warm tears streamed down her flushed cheeks and watered the grass below her.

"Dash, did Thunderlane?  I'm… I'm so sorry this happened" Soarin said as he wiped her tears away with his hand. His stunning kindness made her cry even harder. He embraced her in his arms.

"Dash please don't cry!" Soarin sat her in his lap. "Please tell me what happened"

Rainbow Dash looked up at him. She folded in her wings and calmed down. Her breaths were choppy, but not as bad as when she was crying.
"I h-had just got home, I-I set down my w-work bag by the door, and I went to t-the kitchen and grabbed a-an apple, I-I turned around a-and looked in the fam-family room, a-and there Th-Thunderlane was o-on the couch making o-out with s-some girl!"

"Oh, Dashie…" It took all of Soarins willpower not to go down to Dashes house and beat the crap out of Thunderlane.

Dash started crying again "Why would he do this to me?" She blubbered out. Soarin cradled her cheeks in his hands. His hands were cool against her hot face. He ran his fingers through her tangled hair, combing it as he went along. He wrapped his arms around her, giving her a loving hug. Rainbow Dash looked up in to his eyes. She smiled. Why did she have to wait so long to realize everything she wanted was right in front of her. She reached out to take hold of his hand. Soarin looked down at their hands colliding together and looked back up into Dash's eyes.

"Soarin, I can't believe that you, that your… Soarin, I lo-" Soarin leaned in and kissed her lips, interrupting her words as she spoke. Rainbow Dash new she loved Soarin from that moment.

"I love you Dash. I always have." Soarin whispered these words to Dash so delicately her heart almost stopped.

Rainbow Dash looked down. She was still holding his hand. "I love you too, Soarin, I'm sorry it took so long for me to realize it, I just…" Dash didn't finish her sentence. When she looked up into Soarins eyes, she new, "I love you Soarin"
